For a lot of people, first dates can be especially nerve-racking. You worry about what you’re going to say, what you’re going to wear or–gasp!–that you might embarass yourself during dinner. If you happen to worry about that latter issue, then designer Christina Guardiola’s “First Date Cutlery” is right up your alley.
Check out more after the break…
The forks and knives have special little magnets in them to make it easier to cross them on your plate when you’re done eating or taking a break. According to Guardiola, “This encourages short breaks from eating and a willingness to chat.” Personally, I think it’s a great way to prevent dropping a sharp knife on your foot during dinner. Just sayin’.
The soup spoon is designed to help prevent spillage and discourage slurping.
The dessert spoon is built extra wide to encourage sharing with less germ issues.
So there you have it. With this flatware, you won’t have to worry about any awkward incidences during dinner… well, as long you find a clever way to tell your date why you’re breaking out your set of weird flatware at a restaurant. That could be a bit of a mood killer.
