Traditional Japanese Kutani Tableware Gets A Modern Update

Kutani Choemon has been making traditional Japanese tableware since the company was founded in Ishikawa, Japan back in 1879. That’s 130 years of tradition, but now they’re trying their hand at a more modern version of their wares. The company has added skateboarders, surfers, and all sorts of modern images—giving things like tea ceremony utensils some very non-traditional flair.
