Apparently, a company called Dynamic Forces will produce a line of themed toasters based on properties like The Wizard of Oz, A Christmas Story, Where the Wild Things Are, The Goonies, Gremlins, Little Shop of Horrors, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Mad Magazine, Friends and the Watchmen.

An image will be burned onto the bread during the toasting process—a gimmick that has become quite popular in recent years.

What image will be branded onto bread in the Watchmen toaster has yet to be announced. My guess is that it’s going to be The Comedian’s badge. Either way, it’s probably best if nobody tells Alan Moore because he will lose his sh*t.

The toasters will be released in September.

We just got word about a new book by artist Phil Hansen entitled Tattoo a Banana: And Other Ways to Turn Anything and Everything Into Art. From the description:

Tattoo A Banana is a simple and fun guide to creating art with anything at hand – like a piece of toast, your own fingerprints, a stack of marshmallows; showing everyday creativity with a twist of unconventional techniques.

A demonstration of one of his techniques is available after the break. It illustrates how you can use the browning of a banana to create some pretty incredible art.

Prepare to witness the most convoluted way to shake a cocktail.

This cocktail shaking machine is based on a turn-of-the-century machine called an “Imperial Shaker,” and was built as part of The Touring Pop-up Sideshow Saloon event organized by the Peerless Prodigies of P.T. Barnum. Technically, this machine uses a flywheel driven by a hand-crank, which pushes a ‘crank-slider,’ or pivoting piston. At the end of the crank-slider is a carriage where two cocktail shakers live. The elliptical motion produced by the crank-slider lends itself to mixing cocktails, where a simple up/down motion would not stir the ingredients as much.

Check out the video after the break.
