Dead Rise Ale Is Seasoned With Old Bay And Goes Perfect With Crab

Flying Dog Brewery has created a special edition brew called Dead Rise Old Bay Summer Ale to celebrate Old Bay’s 75th anniversary.

If you’re wondering how a seafood seasoning tastes in a beer, Flying Dog has your answer:

Dead Rise OLD BAY Summer Ale will highlight the indelible character of OLD BAY through bright and refreshing citrus hop character and a crisp, tart finish. OLD BAY is added to the whirlpool imparting a bold aroma followed by hints of flavor throughout the beer. The finish is dry, snappy, and perfect for our hot and humid summers.

The ale will be on shelves Memorial Day through Labor Day in Maryland, DC, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and North Carolina. Proceeds from the sale of this special edition will benefit True Blue, a restaurant certification and consumer awareness program that promotes sustainably harvested Maryland Blue Crab and rewards restaurants that serve Maryland crabmeat.

Sounds like a great beer to have with your next crab dinner. Plus, the label by Gonzo illustrator Ralph Steadman is pretty darn cool.
