Astronauts have stressful jobs, but up until now they have had no outlet other than exercise to relieve stress. Sex? Not likely. Beer? Nope—while in space, astronauts taste buds lose their mojo, making foods taste bland. What’s more, since there is no gravity, the carbonated gas can’t escape their bodies through burping.
However, a solution may be coming in the form of a specially brewed stout from Australia that is packed with flavor but not CO2. It also comes in special packaging to make it easier to drink in a zero gravity environment.
The question I have is why did it take this long? Unless I’m missing some sort of special ingredient, any homebrewer could make a flavorful beer with low CO2 content.
