Self-Serve Beer Vending Machines Set To Debut At MLB All-Star Game

If you’re planning on heading to the Minnesota Twins’ Target Field for the Major League Baseball All-Star festivities next week, you’re in for a treat. The stadium is debuting all-new, self-serve beer vending machines, called DraftServ. The machines (which are the creation of Anheuser-Busch and Delaware North) are stocked with four popular beers that you can access easily: Bud and Bud Light, Shock Top Lemon Shandy and Goose Island 312 Urban Pale Ale.

Patrons line up, show their ID to an employee and then pre-load a card for $10 or $20. The cards can be then used to pour up to 48 ounces of their beer of choice every 15 minutes (which would make getting hammered at the ballpark a little more difficult).

Jerry Jacobs Jr., principal of Delaware North, noted that the vending machine allows patrons the opportunity to have greater control of what they’re drinking. “If they want half of a cup, that’s all they will pay for,” said Jacobs.
