Ever wonder why alcohol makes everyone look better? Apparently the science lies with symmetry, something humans find naturally attractive. Apparently drinking affects the part of the brain responsible for detecting symmetry and the result is deceptive, false beauty.
A study conducted with 64 students confirmed this. While sober students had no problems distinguishing between a symmetrical face and an asymmetrical face, the task was more difficult for those intoxicated, and seemed to affect women more than men. Possibly because men are more visually oriented than women, and spend more time ogling.
