Good whiskey isn’t cheap. In fact, the really tasty/complex stuff that’s been aged in oak for extended periods of time is quite pricey. However, there are options if you’d like to dress up the whiskey you currently have in your liquor cabinet. One such option is Whiskey Elements. The whiskey accessory has the ability to change the flavor of whiskey and improve the quality in only 24 hours. It’s only a project on Kickstarter right now, but it’s been fully funded and should start hitting whiskey glasses in December.
How does it work? The product is basically an infused wood stick. From the Kickstarter:
In a way, we redesigned the whiskey barrel by removing the barrel and developing a propriatary curing method to replace its presence in the aging process.
The Elements come in oaky, vanilla, maple, smokey, and peat flavors, and you just have to soak them in booze for 24 hours. I’m interested, and they’re just affordable enough at $12 per pair that I’d be willing to try them.
See a couple more photos and learn how it works in a video after the break.
