Chilean Winers Comes From An Interesting Terroir

Though the grapes to make this wine were grown on Chilean soil, the bottles celebrate something else that came out of the Earth there: the 33 miners rescued this past fall.

Designed by the UK-based firm Unreal, each bottle of Chilean Winers will feature the name of a rescued miner—numbered in the order of their resurfacing. Plus, the bottles will be packaged in a tube that represents the Fénix 2 rescue capsule and will require the drinker to “dig it out” from underneath a layer of rocks. To top this bizarre concept off, a replica of the message sent up to the rescue workers from the mine will be included in the packaging.

We’re not sure if the wine will ever be sold commercially, but we understand that they will be given away to Unreal’s clients as gifts.
