Denny’s serving espresso? It could happen now that the chain is expanding into the cafe market. Starting on November 1st, the first Denny’s Cafe will open in Orange County, California (across the street from Chapman Medical Center) and will feature some of the favorites on the traditional Denny’s menu along with a self-service beverage and coffee bar.
The cafe will be half the size of a normal Denny’s restaurant and customers will order from a takeout window and have the food brought to their table. Basically, it’s like the Panera Bread version of a normal Denny’s.
Several more Denny’s Cafes are in the works, but only time will tell if the experiment will take root and roll out across the country. Let’s hope these are open 24 hours, because this will give slightly more upscale alcoholics a place to go for food at 3 am.
