Just days after the great bacon panic of 2012, shortage terrors are striking Starbucks patrons. It turns out that their Pumpkin Spiced Latte is so popular that the chain is actually experiencing nationwide shortages of the syrup necessary to create the beverage. Needless to say, customers aren’t happy to be told that the drink isn’t available:
“I just left, depressed,” said one New York fan, while another tweeted, ”My world almost ended this morning when the local Starbucks told me they were out of Pumpkin Spice Latte.”
Starbucks says the shortages are due to infrequent deliveries and the fact that stores aren’t ordering enough. Somehow I doubt that explanation will fly with caffeine addicts who need a fall pumpkin spice fix.
