Pepsi has become the latest company associated with Back To The Future II to make products featured in the film a reality. Indeed, Pepsi Perfect will be an extremely limited edition offering staring on October 21, 2015—the same date Marty McFly arrived in the future and ordered the beverage.
PepsiCo’s senior director of marketing, Lou Arbetter tells The Hollywood Reporter:
“Fans have always been a little crazy about it. So we wanted to take advantage of the fact that Marty traveled to the future, to this month, and wanted to actually come out with the product.”
Pepsi plans to release the beverage in a limited run of only 6,500 bottles, available while supplies last. Fortunately for us, the 16.9 oz. bottle will retail for $20.15 which is a steal compared to Marty’s bill of $50 in the movie. And while the Pepsi Perfect bottles will be packaged in a special futuristic case, the cola will be the same formula as Pepsi with real sugar.
For those attending NYCC this weekend, the first 200 fans dressed as Marty McFly will receive Pepsi Perfect bottles on each day of the convention. Pepsi will also be celebrating with a booth inspired by “Café ’80s,” featuring a DeLorean and even a Wild Gunman arcade game.
