Pilot Spills Coffee And Hijacks a 777

I’m pretty sure that while the folks on United Airlines flight 940, with service from Chicago to Frankfurt, were hopeful that their pilot was awake and alert, they probably wish he’d had his coffee before the flight started.

Sometime after take off, the pilot had a little accident and managed to spill a cup of coffee onto the cockpit communications panel. It’s not clear whether there was a liquid malfunction or if they clicked something while trying to clean up the mess, but they ended up sending a code 7500 which is the code to indicate the plane is being hijacked.

So, now I have to wonder. Does this mean no more coffee on planes?
