I don’t know about you, but the current trek from bed to coffee – even brewed coffee- can be a perilous one if you’re not awake. And there’s always the concern that you won’t get out of the bed to even get the coffee because you need the coffee to get out of the bed.
Well, there’s a solution to this problem.
Allow me to introduce you to “The Barisieur”. This coffee maker and alarm clock in one was introduced at New Designers 2014 by creator Josh Renouf.
Renouf is an industrial designer so this beauty is built to work well and look good. The clock is a standard digital clock, but the top is coffee chemistry.
Water in the beaker is heated by induction heating and then blown out over your choice of ground coffee in a stainless steel filter. While the water is heating, ball bearings in the beaker clink together to create the alarm sound. From there, it drips into a glass mug under the filter and you get coffee. There’s even a space in the middle of the tray that holds cream and your choice of sweetener.
Some of you may need something a little louder to wake up in the morning, but the wonderful smell might negate that problem. And yeah, it sure is a shorter walk to the coffee.
