If you love candy and booze and are ok with a Christmas that includes overpriced impermanence, then Kreuther Handcrafted Chocolates has the gift for you.
The company’s new Patrón Alquimia Collection is “crafted from rare, exquisitely sourced ingredients and infused with elements extending from the savory kitchen to the highest perfection of distilled spirits”. Each collection is handcrafted over a three day period using a variety of flavor profiles. Pursuitist breaks it down thusly:
The chocolates in each box are hand-crafted and offer a variety of flavor profiles, including the albedo, a luxurious white chocolate with Tahitian vanilla, raisins soaked in Gran Patrón Platinum, ganache with a sable Breton crunch and Gran Patrón Platinum ganache, the nigraurum, a marbled milk chocolate with salted caramel ganache of Patrón Extra Añejo 5 Años and the cuprium, a shimmering, copper-hued milk chocolate filled with ginger and pumpkin spice and a ganache of limited edition Patrón Extra Añejo 7 Años.
A box of 24 chocolates will blow a $1k hole in your wallet, although you can take comfort in the fact that 20% of the proceeds from each box will go to City Harvest’s mission to feed New Yorkers suffering from hunger.
