If you’ve ever had the joy of opening a chocolate Kinder Egg and assembling the cool toy inside, then you’ve either been outside the US or you were breaking the law. The eggs have been illegal here since 1938 because the FDA says you can’t have something non-edible encased in something edible. Finally, New Jersey company Candy Treasure has come up with a solution by having a thin edge of the inner plastic egg revealed to avoid any confusion. You’ll start seeing Choco Treasure eggs on store shelves just in time for Easter.
The new legal Choco Treasure line even has a Marvel license. You can check out a Spider-Man version after the break.
