Cronuts Are Everywhere Now, Even Dunkin’ Donuts


It’s been only two months since the cronut’s creation at Dominique Ansel Bakery in downtown Manhattan, but that is more than enough time for Dunkin’ Donuts to start making its own version of the pastry. Since the bakery has filed a trademark application for the name “cronut” they’re instead calling them “New York Pie Donuts,” but they’re essentially the same product. Right now they’re only available in South Korea and in Manila where they’re called “Dount Croissants.” Dunks says they have no plans to launch them in the US right now, but that’s not the same thing as never.
