Now that George Lucas has “retired” from making Star Wars films, it looks like R2-D2 will have to find a new line of work – and apparently that means becoming a coffee machine.
Instructables user “iminthebathroom” had an idea to create a new device that would brew coffee quickly for larger dinner parties, and decided to combine an industrial BUNN type machine with the galaxy’s favorite droid. The best part is that he has provided step by step instructions, along with numerous photos, that can be used to create your own version.
Hit the jump to check out a video of the machine’s voice feature, which was made by hacking a recordable greeting card.

If your own hand is doing a mediocre job holding your beer, and you want a bigger, more intimidating hand to do the job, check out this “Beast” can koozie.
The Beast goes hard, storing your brew (and the ones after that) in a manner appropriate to the drinker to quench the driest of thirsts. Fortunately, the Beast knows how to keep its cool, making sure that your beer stays cold – because nothing makes you have to unleash beast mode quite like the terrible experience of warm beer.
Viking helmet and body hair sold separately.

If you travel first class on Virgin Atlantic, you can now use Richard Branson’s head to cool your drinks. The company apparently found the introduction of “Little Richard ice cubes” to be something that will draw people to their airline, and released a statement which said:
The new ice innovation means all passengers will be able to enjoy some chill out time with Mr Branson at the new bar – the longest of any airline – which has been designed to provide additional space and comfort for those keen to socialise while flying…The ice cubes have been created using the exact measurements of Sir Richard’s head and feature an impressive level of detail. The mould for the ice cubes took a team of four skilled designers a painstaking six weeks to create using detailed photographic techniques and laser scanning technology to create the perfect likeness of Sir Richard.
Since I don’t know how to reply to this insanity, I’ll close by stating that the cubes will be served on board one of the first flights of the airline’s new Upper Class Cabin this month.

If you’re anal retentive about ice cubes, check out ThinkGeek’s “Polar Ice Crystal” tray, which will create perfectly clear cubes to meet your quality standards:
The Polar Ice Icebox has an insulated bottom that insures that only the surface water is exposed to the cold. Just as in nature, ice forms layer by layer, pushing all the other bits down to the bottom. Once the cube is ready, any residual opaque ice can be removed easily and you’ll have that one perfect cube ready for your most precious beverage of choice.

Sunday nights currently boast two of the best television shows currently airing: Game of Thrones and Mad Men. For taking place in completely different worlds, they have more than a couple of things in common. Neither show is overly respectful towards women, both shows have a fair amount of sex, and both shows have even more drinking.
Vulture wondered which series had the most drinks so far this season. They’ve paid close attention and tallied the number of sips of booze in a video that will make you forget about the drinking games you have scheduled for the next episodes.
Watch the scores go up and up in the video after the break.
