If you’ve been anxiously waiting for the return of the McRib so you can stuff your face with… whatever the hell is in that thing, then you’ll be pissed to know that corporate has pushed the sandwich’s return to the second half of December. Why? Blame the weather and the company’s love of money:
According to Ad Age, fourth-quarter 2011 and first quarter 2012 “marked one of the mildest winters in years”–boosting McDonald’s sales to up to 9.8%, and giving them ample reason to attempt to match that number this year by delaying the McRib’s release.
In place of the fall release, McDonald’s will offer two new products: the Cheddar Bacon Onion Angus burger and a similarly dressed chicken sandwich.
