Vermont takes their maple syrup really seriously, so much so that they have maple laws that specify that if a product is touted as a natural maple product, it has to have maple syrup in it, which McDonald’s has failed to prove with their new Fruit & Maple Oatmeal. The state is giving the fast food company 60 to 90 days to comply, either by adding real maple syrup, or removing the word “maple” from the name. McDonald’s says that they are “currently in discussions with the State of Vermont to ensure that [they] meet any applicable state standards”. Check out the video after the break.
