Fantastic Nerdy Drinks For St. Patrick’s Day [Featured]

There will likely be beer involved in your St. Patrick’s Day celebration and it might even be green, but you can do better. Try one of these super nerdy drinks themed to your favorite movies, cartoons and video games.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle “Mutagen”

This is both nerdy and holiday colored with it’s nifty toxic green glow, but contains absolutely no toxic waste that will turn you into a mutant.

1.5 oz Pineapple Rum
0.5 oz Midori
2oz aloe Mango Drink
1 Bag of Green Pop Rocks
Half a Lime wedge
5 Grapes

Directions: First Rim glass with your green pop rocks. (also Green dyed sugar also works) Add Midori, Pineapple Rum, and Aloe Mango drink into mixing glass and poor into glass over ice. Then add your garnish and drink to mutate. To make the turtle garnish take half a lime and add 5 tooth picks, 1 for each appendage (2 arms 2 legs and 1 head).

The Hulk

Here’s another wonderful green drink that’s the perfect beverage to serve to friends who lose their tempers. It will calm them down and hopefully make their punches less accurate.

The Portal 2 Cocktail

This is a great excuse to have two drinks in your hands at once. There’s one for each of the portals in the game, and if you drink enough of them you’ll likely think you’re travelling through portals for real.

Blue Curacao
Small tumblers

Directions: This drink is, of course, designed to resemble the two coloured portals from the excellent sci-fi puzzle game. For the blue version, get a small tumbler and pour in 10ml of Blue Curacao, 10ml of vodka and top up with lemonade. For orange you’ll need another tumbler, this time filled with 10ml of Cointreau, 10ml of rum and Orangina. If you fancy, you can jazz the glasses up with coloured sugar rims. Simply pour some sugar into a sandwich bag with the relevant food colouring, shake them up, pour the resulting mix into a dish and dip your tumbler in. “You can mix the portals together if you like,” says James. “It’s a very orangey flavour, which we thought tied in with The Orange Box, the compilation in which the original Portal appeared.”

Link’s Potion Punch

Take a break from collecting rupees and enjoy a flask of health restoring potion punch that Link would love.

2 liters Sprite
1 liter Green Apple Soda
1 cup Vodka
1/2 cup Green Apple Liqueur
1/4 cup Lychee Liqueur

Directions: This drink is a punch meant for parties. Mix all ingredients into a punch bowl, cauldron, boiling flask, or large container of your choosing. Drink whenever you feel the need to restore your magic meter.”

Halo Cocktail

Perfect for kicking back with your friends after a hard day kicking Covenant butt. Tastes equally good after a day wandering from bar to bar having drinks with your friends.

2 parts Alizé Bleu Passion
2 parts UV Blue Vodka
1 squeeze Blueberry Lemonade Mio
Lemon Lime soda

Directions: Pour the Blue Curacao over ice into a hurricane or equally sexy tall glass. Float Alizé atop Curacao. Float vodka atop Alizé. Gently pour your lemon lime soda nearing the top. Squeeze a shot of blue concentrated flavoring (Mio)

The 1-Up Shot

I firmly believe that any drink that comes with whipped cream is preordained to be delicious. Even more so when it’s got Vodka.

The Metroid

This alcoholic version of a metroid will not drain your energy. Instead, it will perk you up and taste wonderful, too.

1/2 shot Coconut Rum

A little less than 1/2 a glass Sprite
3 Strawberries

This does not appear to be bigger on the inside, but it does look delicious. Not responsible for wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey experiences after drink consumption.
