If you do go, I highly recommend getting the Polenta Under Glass as a starter. The taste is creamy, rich and cheesy. It’s easy to understand why its one of their signature dishes.
As a main course, we had the Toasted Trade Spice Fulton Valley Chicken Breast with sweet corn and potato velutata, arugula and shaved corn salad with sherry vinegar pan sauce. The meat was exceptional and the sherry vinegar pan sauce added a fantastic tang to the dish.
As good as the food was, Bottega also has some of the best outdoor seating in Yountville. Big luxurious couches, an outdoor fireplace and overall great design under a giant orange awning make it a really comfortable place to have a meal (except for all of the bees that try and share our meals with us. This appears to be an unavoidable reality of outdoor dining in Napa).
On the downside, that orange awning makes getting a good shot of the food next to impossible, which explains the odd coloring of these photos. Kind of interesting though—it looks like I was eating lunch on an acid trip.
