Zombie Jerky: Our Taste Test Review

Take a look at what I had for lunch today—zombie flesh!

We’ve been waiting since last summer to get our hands on some of Harcos Labs Zombie Jerky, and the good news is that it’s finally ready to ship. The bad news is that this stuff isn’t worth the $5 per bag price tag.

I mean, if it was actual flesh harvested from a zombie—maybe. That would be a delicacy after all. But what you will find in each of these single serve bags is two bite-sized pieces of green meat that have a slightly sweet, slightly smoky teriyaki flavor.

I will say this, the meat does look and feel like something that rotted off an undead corpse. It has a slimy stew meat kind of consistency underneath a spotty, green-colored, moistened spice powder.

It’s palatable, but not delicious, and you could achieve a similar effect with cheaper jerky using some food coloring, soy sauce and some garlic/onion powder. Something to keep in mind for the Halloween party this year.

However, if you want to taste the real thing in a fancy zombie-themed bag, you can purchase a box of 4, 6, or 12 from the Harcos website.
