Macaron Meets Donut And The World Will Never Be The Same

Cue Homer Simpson drooling (in French).

Created by Francois Payard, the macaronut is basically a macaron and a donut blended together into one deliciously divine treat.

Payard cooked up the tasty pastry in honor of Macaron Day (a holiday created by Payard himself), which takes place on March 20th each year. It’s all about celebrating the macaron and also making an effort to help someone in need.

Participating bakeries in New York City will make a donation for every macaron purchased to City Harvest, an organization that aims to fight hunger in NYC.

The first macaronut flavor is strawberries and cream, and it looks downright yummy. Pick up your macaronut on March 20 at any of these NYC Payard bakeries.
