The Milky Bun Donut Is Stuffed With Ice Cream

What happens when you combine ice cream with a donut? Ok, you get a delicious mess. Let’s rephrase the question: What happens when you successfully and neatly combine a donut with ice cream?

You get a “milky bun.” Sounds icky, I know, but stay with me here.

This interesting sweet treat was created by the folks at Afters, an Orange County-based ice cream shop. Afters is run by Andy Nguyen (CEO of IM King) and Scott Nghiem (the Owner of Thorocraft footwear), and the milky bun is their pride an joy–it’s basically a glazed bun that’s stuffed with your preferred ice cream.

The process is pretty simple: You pick your ice cream, and then the folks behind the counter use a special waffle-iron press to seal your favorite ice cream inside a bun. The result is, as you might suspect, quite an experience for your taste buds. The flavors run the gamut: they have everything from “cookie monster” to mint chocolate and even jasmine milk tea.
