The class-action lawsuit brought against Taco Bell by an Alabama law firm was voluntarily dropped on Monday. The suit had accused the restaurant of serving ground beef that didn’t meet the USDA definition of the term “ground beef.” It was dropped after Taco Bell used the publicity to advertise, disclosing the contents of that meat filling in detail, and taking out full-page ads thanking the plaintiffs. In a statement, a representative of the law firm explained their decision:
From the inception of this case, we stated that if Taco Bell would make certain changes regarding disclosure and marketing of its “seasoned beef” product, the case could be dismissed.
I guess this means we can go back to calling Taco Bell beef “beef”.
