Arch West, creator of Doritos, passed away in Dallas on Sept. 20 at the age of 97. The former Frito-Lay executive was inspired to create Doritos after stumbling across fried tortilla chips while vacationing in San Diego in 1961. Doritos were released in the U.S. in 1964 and the rest is history.
Needless to say, we all owe a great debt to this man.
A graveside service is set for October 1, where West’s family plans to toss Doritos into his grave.
