A 7-year old girl Sarasota, Florida is being hailed as a hero for quick thinking that saved her mother’s life. When Rita Lawlor was unable to wake her mother, Virginia, she slapped her with a slice of pizza. When that didn’t work, she called 911.
She was waiting on the lawn when paramedics arrived while calmly speaking with a dispatcher on the phone. Thankfully, Rita’s mother was revived and is doing well. For her part, Rita was awarded a medal by her local fire department.
What would have been really interesting is if the pizza revived her on its own—as if it was some sort of greasy, delicious miracle drug. Then there would always be an excuse to keep it close by. Check out the associated news report after the break.
