Sony Pictures picked up a pitch for a new dramedy about the very true and already hilarious Canadian maple syrup heist that took place last year.
More than $20 million worth of syrup was stolen from a Quebec warehouse, and more than 20 people were arrested—the last only a week ago.
Seth Gordon, who directed “Identity Thief,” is currently attached to direct. Jason Segel is attached to star, and Chris Sheridan (a writer on Family Guy) will write the script.
