A San Diego mom who discovered Nutella was unhealthy after relying on the spread’s commercials instead of common sense and the nutrition facts printed right on the container won her lawsuit against Ferrero. The total award was $3.5 million – 2.5 million of which will be spread out among claimants of a nationwide class action suit.
If you want in on this money train, go here to fill out your claim. It seems that you don’t even have to have a receipt, and for now you can get reimbursed for up to five jars if you bought them between Jan 1, 2008, and Feb 3, 2012 (or Aug. 1, 2009, and Jan. 23, 2012 in [California].
In addition to losing $3.5 million, Ferrero will also have to shell out to change the product’s marketing and labeling so that it doesn’t mislead consumers into thinking Nutella is healthy.
