If you’ve been thinking of trying the new Peeps Oreos, there are some side-effects you may want to know about beforehand.
A number of consumers who have tried them have taken to social media to report that the cookies have turned their saliva, tongue and yes, even their poop, a bright shade of Peep pink.
The effects have been said to last into the following day and have even turned toothbrushes pink.
An Oreo spokesperson says that the cookies contain FD&C Red Number 3, an FDA-approved bright pink food coloring that “can temporarily color the tongue and inside of the mouth” and “can also temporarily color stool.”
As you’ll see from the pics and horrified reactions after the jump, these probably should have been released for Halloween instead of Easter.
The thing that disturbs me most about the Peeps Oreos is that I woke up with a tongue the same color as the cream filling.

Ate 3 Peeps Oreos last night. My tongue is still hot pink and my spit looks like Pepto-Bismol

Pro-tip: the new Peeps flavored Oreo cookies will turn your tongue pink. Very pink. Do not panic after cookie-breakfast when brushing teeth.
