TGI Friday’s recently launched the Mobile Mistletoe campaign. The idea is that a drone flies mistletoe over love birds, and they, well you know. Yeah, it didn’t sound like it would end well and it hasn’t. The Brooklyn Daily reports that their photographer, Georgine Benvenuto, was hit on the nose by one of the drone’s spinning and uncovered blades. Yipes! From the Brooklyn Daily:
“It literally chipped off a tip of my nose,” said Benvenuto, using tissues to stanch the blood. “It took off part of my nose and cut me here, right under my chin.”
The best/worst part? The drone operator, David Quiones, blamed Benvenuto for the accident. Quiones encouraged the photographer to let him land a drone on her head, but she flinched when it touched down. Quiones says that caused the problem.
Can we just agree that maybe flying a drone through a crowded restaurant isn’t a good idea?
