Man Accidentally Steps On a Peanut Butter Carpet In An Art Museum

This unfortunate museum-goer just stepped on Wim T. Schippers’ Peanut Butter Platform—a 290 gallon floor of peanut butter currently on display at the Rotterdam Boijmans van Beuningen museum.

Apparently, this bizarre work was born out of Schippers’ philosophy that “in principle everything is meaningless and absurd, but is therefore worth the effort nevertheless.”

Amazingly, the museum has asked the visitor to pay for the damage, despite the fact that they refuse to put up any barriers to warn visitors because of “aesthetic concerns”. What a gyp. Gimme a jar of Jif an a loaf of bread and I’ll have it looking as good as new in no time.

Check out an additional image of the installation under construction after the break.
