It’s Friday, and many of you are planning on leaving the office just to sit in a restaurant lobby for an hour with one of those vibrating LED pagers waiting for a table. Thankfully there’s now an app called WaitList from The Onion’s A.V. Club which will allow you to choose a location and see the wait times reported by other users, or the restaurant itself (if they decide to provide that information). However, there are a few drawbacks. First off, the technology is relatively new, and there is currently a lack of people reporting wait times. There’s also the problem of having to rely on other app users for information, as well as the potential for restaurants to mess with it in order to get ahead on the competition.
