Last month, I wrote about the new Star Wars cereal and I think my excitement showed through because General Mills was kind enough to send me a sample.
Check out my review after the break…
First of all, it showed up in a cool Star Wars box. That’s already awesome.
Not only did they send me both Yoda and Darth Vader boxes, they also threw in a very cool Star Wars bowl!
I’ll admit, it took some deciding. I mean, choosing between the light and the dark side is tough. However, I realized that each box had the same kind of cereal, so I opened Yoda. Plus, usually it’s the Light Side that falls to the Dark Side, so I’m doing it in order.
As for the cereal, I think I got a good picture of each of the marshmallow types. From what I can tell, we have a red lightsaber, a blue lightsaber, a Stormtrooper helmet, R2-D2, a Jedi Starfighter, and Yoda’s head. The cereal itself has three shapes: Tie Fighter, X-Wing, and Millennium Falcon.
Overall, I thought it was pretty tasty! When I first saw it, I thought it would be like Lucky Charms, but it’s not an oat based cereal. It reminded me a little of Trix, in a good way. It was tasty and the marshmallows were a nice little ping of sweetness. I’ll eat them, for sure.
Since I already have two of the boxes, I think I can consider my collection started. I’ll have to keep an eye out for new ones as the Star Wars movies unfold.
Look for Star Wars cereal to begin hitting store shelves this month.
