LAWeekly’s blog, Squid Ink, describes the deep fried banana-filled Fluffernutter from the Black Market Liquor Bar thusly:
Black Market’s version arrives at the table as a golden, panko-crusted brick. It’s slightly larger than a Sticky pad, and if that seems too small, it overcompensates in richness what it lacks in size. Slice into the sweet brioche, and the sandwich oozes with warm marshwallow fluff. You may not be able to see it, blanketed as the sandwich is with a layer of gooey Fluffernutter, but it’s loaded with peanut butter and bananas. It’s a childhood treat, all dolled up for the decadent adult. Eat your heart out, Elvis Presley.

Vancouver restaurateur Dougie Luv, owner of DougieDog Hot Dogs has created a $100 “Dragon Dog” which he claims is the most expensive in the world. The foot-long offers Kobe beef seared in olive and truffle oil, fresh lobster, a secret picante sauce and a bratwurst infused with century-old Louis the 13th cognac – which costs more than $2,000 a bottle.
If you want to try the $100 dog for yourself, your order must be placed 12 hours in advance. Luv claims he has already received 10 reservations.
