A student named Joel Brochu showed us the definition of patience and dedication by creating this 4’ by 1 ½’ picture of a beagle using 221,184 hand placed nonpareil sprinkles. Amazingly, only six colors were used (Red, Orange, Green, Blue, Black, and White) which blend together to form different tones as the viewer moves away from the picture. The image was created using a customized computer program which fashioned a template from the original photo for use as a guide for placing each sprinkle. The effort took 8 months to complete, and was subsequently preserved with a clear acrylic resin.
