Special effects guru Stuart Murdoch assembled a team of four and built this full-scale Challenger II tank over a 512 hour period using 5,016 egg cartons, 5.7 gallons of glue, more than 10,000 nails and 5,000 staples. The sculpture measures 34 feet in length and was created to celebrate March Fourth, an annual egg-and-spoon race run by Eggs For Soldiers in aid of Help For Heroes.
Despite the time and effort required to build the tank, Murdoch said the most challenging part was “getting it through the double doors of the Imperial War Museum in one piece for the photo shoot.”
The tank will be at Clapham Common, London, on March 4.
