8thtardisconsolecake

Geeks Clara and Justin threw one heck of a wedding. From a Harry Potter style venue map, to a Starcraft themed seating chart, to both a Portal cake and this awesome cake of the 8th Doctor’s TARDIS console.

Here’s what they had to say about their cakes.

Our cakes were AMAZING. They were made by Cakes by Erin. One was a Portal themed cake, which showed a completed level that I custom wrote with some friends. There ended up being a few logical errors in the cake level, but it looked fairly cool still. There were internal lights so that the portal effect could be seen. It was done with two brides and two grooms set up with two interior rooms made to look like the other sides.

The other cake was Doctor Who themed as the Eighth Doctor’s console. This one turned out REALLY amazing. It’s incredible the amount of detail they put in. The cakes also tasted wonderful. These cakes were expensive but everyone was blown away by how they looked.

Yep. Those are just too cool for words.

It’s not every day that you see a Zerg on a cookie, and I think the world is a poorer place for it. Luckily, super geek baker Ant of Nerdache Cakes is saving the day with her wonderful designs. I marvel at her creativity and patience. Seriously – so much sculpting and icing. The designs include symbols, shields, a spawning pool, and more.
