“English food” is not a term that’s normally met with a great deal of enthusiasm – just watch an episode of “Two Fat Ladies” to see why. Therefore, nobody will be surprised that one London restaurant decided to start serving ice cream made from human breast milk provided by moms who answered a posting on an online forum. The dessert, called “Baby Gaga” blends breast milk with Madagascan vanilla pods and lemon zest, and will be served starting today at the Icecreamists parlor in the city’s Covent Garden.
“Some people will hear about it and go, ‘yuck’ but actually it’s pure, organic, free-range and totally natural,” said the store’s founder.
“What could be more natural than fresh, free-range mother’s milk in an ice cream?” asks one mom who sold her milk to the Icecreamists. “And for me it’s a recession beater too — what’s the harm in using my assets for a bit of extra cash… I tried the product for the first time today — it’s very nice, it really melts in the mouth.”
Apparently it’s only a recession beater for the Moms, because one serving will cost around $23.
